A personal access card is required to enter the Munsbach Recycling Centre.
Access cards are provided free of charge to all private households in the municipalities of Schuttrange, Niederanven, Contern and Sandweiler, and are also available to businesses and public organisations under a special agreement with the Recycling Centre’s operators.
The card is an electronic pass that allows you to open the entrance barrier to the Munsbach Recycling Centre, much like a long-stay parking permit in a car park. Please follow the instructions displayed at the entrance barrier!
Once you have presented your identity card or a Certificat de résidence, you will be issued with an access card immediately at the recycling centre. For further information, please contact the reception desk at the recycling centre. Businesses, clubs and public bodies must apply for the card at the Munsbach recycling centre. An access card will be issued once your application has been assessed and a user agreement has been signed.
The list below sets out all the waste products we accept. These materials are collected, stored and disposed of in accordance with current legislation. For many of these, there is a guaranteed recycling process. However, a prerequisite for such recycling is separate collection, which begins at your home. Provided you hand over your waste to us in a clean and separated state, we guarantee both environmentally sound and economically viable recycling.
A number of waste materials are collected separately at the recycling centre solely so that they can be properly disposed of and to prevent them from ending up in the general waste bin. This applies, for example, to construction waste, which is taken to authorised construction waste disposal sites in this way rather than ending up in the natural environment. Similarly, this enables the many hazardous household waste items, such as batteries, leftover paint and varnish, household cleaning products, medicines, cooking oils, aerosol cans, etc., to be properly recorded via the SuperDrecksKëscht® fir Bierger and subsequently sent for proper disposal.
The range of waste materials that are recorded and collected separately comprises eight groups (Grand-Ducal Decree of 1 December 1993). Each waste group is further divided into individual sub-groups, known as fractions. The following tables provide information on the individual waste groups and their corresponding fractions.

In general, bulky waste is accepted at the Munsbach Recycling Centre. A distinction is made between recyclable, non-recyclable and prohibited bulky waste.
Please register your bulky waste at reception so that it can be checked for non-recyclable items.
Every non-recyclable item of bulky waste is recorded and charged to you in accordance with your local authority’s current fee schedule. With the exception of car tyres, the disposal of recyclable bulky waste items remains free of charge.
Please sort the recyclable components of your bulky waste, such as scrap metal, waste wood, cardboard, glass, clean plastic packaging, clean Styrofoam®, construction waste, electrical and electronic equipment, and hand them in separately at the Munsbach Recycling Centre.
